We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an English Learning Support Assistant at the British Council. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children aged 2-5, supporting their learning and development in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role

This role will involve working closely with our experienced class teachers, providing support and assistance to ensure the smooth delivery of lessons. You will be responsible for setting up activities, engaging with children, and creating a safe and secure learning environment.

As an English Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our young learners. Your expertise and enthusiasm will inspire confidence and motivation in the children, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons
  • Engage with children, promoting social and emotional development, and encouraging active learning
  • Assist in setting up activities, preparing materials, and maintaining a well-organized classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring seamless coordination and cooperation
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in education or childcare, with experience working with children aged 2-5
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm, with the capacity to engage and motivate children
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Fluency in English (B1 level or above) and basic knowledge of Spanish (B1 level or above)
