About the Role

We're seeking a skilled D&O Underwriter to join our growing team in Calgary or Vancouver. As a key member of our Management Liability team in the Specialty Lines department, you'll play a critical role in building a profitable portfolio of Management Liability accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze requests for quotes, renewals, and policy changes, and provide innovative solutions
  • Support brokers with underwriting and rating policies
  • Develop long-term relationships with broker partners through exceptional service
  • Participate in broker visits, industry functions, and marketing events to support relationship development
  • Use negotiation skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
  • Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members
  • Offer creative solutions to improve department efficiency and productivity

What You Bring to the Table
  • Minimum 3 years of D&O underwriting experience
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management, or equivalent education and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exemplary sales, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • A track record of mentoring and training Underwriters
  • Positive, solution-oriented, and adaptable attitude
  • Self-driven and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Analytical and flexible to change
