Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to join our team at Parsons Corporation. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for conducting construction layout and engineering survey services for the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct topographic surveys, engineering surveys, and as-built surveys to ensure accurate data collection and documentation.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of conventional and GPS survey equipment to ensure efficient and accurate data collection.
  • Collaborate with project managers and survey teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of survey tasks and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior survey staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in surveying and geomatics technology to ensure our team remains at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in surveys, with a minimum of 2 years in construction surveying.
  • Experience with operating robotic total stations, Windows-based data collectors, GNSS technology, and other data collection technologies.
  • Knowledge of municipal engineering and land development projects, including sewer, water main, dirt survey, earthworks, and road construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license, preferably with a clean abstract.
  • Valid applicable safety tickets (Confined Space, Fall Protection, Aerial Lift) an asset.
