Job Summary:

Humber College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professor to join our Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology. As a Professor of Plumbing Techniques, you will be responsible for teaching courses in Plumbing Apprenticeship and Plumbing Techniques, as well as other programs at our North campus. Your responsibilities will include curriculum development, lesson planning, assessing student progress and achievement, and class management. You will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work collaboratively with colleagues in a culturally diverse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in Plumbing Apprenticeship and Plumbing Techniques
  • Develop and implement curriculum for plumbing programs
  • Assess student progress and achievement
  • Manage classroom dynamics and ensure a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program initiatives
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees and working groups

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Plumbing Journeyperson Qualification, 306A
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Minimum teaching experience in the welding field
  • G3 Gas fitters Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry acumen and experience
  • Strong math skills
  • Thorough understanding of contemporary low rise/hi rise and ICI industry standards
  • Knowledge of current OBC regulations with particular reference to Part 7
  • Autocad literacy 2-D and 3-D
  • Microsoft 365 programs literacy (PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel)
