Job Title: Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Proselect Construction Ltd. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and renovation of residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to meet tight deadlines
  • Reliability and punctuality
Work Environment:

Our team works in a fast-paced environment with a variety of projects and deadlines. As a Carpenter, you will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy, dusty, and outdoors environments.
