Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Solid Waste Technical Advisor to join our team at the Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC).

About Us

The OFNTSC is a non-profit organization that provides technical advisory services, training, and capacity development to First Nations communities in Ontario.

Job Responsibilities
  • Technical Advisory Services: Provide expert advice to First Nation clients on waste disposal site operations, maintenance, and development, as well as waste diversion initiatives.
  • Project Management: Manage contracts, work plans, and deliverables for solid waste management projects.
  • Reporting and Scheduling: Prepare and submit reports, and maintain schedules as required.
  • Portal Maintenance: Ensure the Solid Waste Portal is complete with educational and technical resources for clients.
  • Funding Applications: Prepare funding applications for corporate solid waste management initiatives.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Oversee and improve waste diversion programs, ensuring compliance with Ontario legislation and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management skills, and knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Certifications and Memberships: Maintain proper certifications and memberships, and pursue ongoing education to meet OFNTSC skill requirements.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The position also offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional development.
