Project Management Director

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to join our Infrastructure and Industrial division, focusing on innovative projects in the transit and transportation sectors, such as roads, highways/freeways, bridges, interchanges, LRTs, BRTs, and airports. The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Director and possess in-depth knowledge of Infrastructure/Civil construction projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests and maintain excellent relationships with clients
- Ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
- Assisting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, liaising with legal counsel as necessary, in conjunction with the Operations Manager
- Developing, recommending, and implementing the project plan after being awarded the project
- Counseling, mentoring, providing direction, and reviewing the performance of personnel reporting directly to the Project Manager
- Monitoring and controlling progress, costs, and budgets throughout the project
- Identifying and mitigating risks
- Acting to resolve disputes between the Company and owner, or Company and subcontractors when possible prior to escalating
- Identifying required and optional changes in project scope; negotiating change orders with the owner
- Managing claims and claims avoidance
- Having knowledge of the business unit portfolio
- Managing a team regarding internal relations and human resourcing
- Promoting upskilling and further learning
- Being involved with industry and Company organizations and social events
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering degree or related technical degree
- At least 7+ years' experience leading Infrastructure Projects ($25-300 million) with a General Contractor
- Knowledge/experience on water or wastewater projects along with concrete projects
- Business unit portfolio experience
- Experience with running multiple jobs
- Projects with BC Hydro or Fortis BC considered an asset
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of construction: technology, equipment, materials, bid management, claims management, and safety
This role offers a highly competitive salary of $131,000 - $160,000 per annum, commensurate with education and experience.
