Job Title: Project Director

Arcadis is seeking a Project Director to lead the delivery of projects in our Mobility Global Business Area. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing projects to meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets. You will also be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring delivery meets or exceeds client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sound and effective leadership to the team, providing direction and technical advice, and leading by example to achieve company goals.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure they understand and become engaged with the project strategy, brief, and client requirements.
  • Develop and manage the Project Program and obtain the buy-in of all stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification, and forecasting as appropriate.
  • Continually look to enhance productivity through improved processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Maintain an overview of the commercial aspects of the project, including contract, invoicing, debt, and client management.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing projects.
  • Manage the acquisition, deployment, and management of resources for the project to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Direct the assessment, selection, and management of suppliers, sub-consultants, and contractors associated with projects.
  • Drive project performance, service delivery, and technical and commercial outcomes and undertake reviews to ensure client delivery is above expectation.
  • Ensure completed engineering and documentation work is reviewed for technical, Arcadis, and client compliance.
  • Ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project.
  • Work to ensure maximum client satisfaction, championing client care and proactively working with the client.
  • Review the performance of team members and develop them to their full potential.
  • Engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 15+ years of Project Management experience as well as 10+ years of Transportation Engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with EGBC) preferred.
  • Experience with MOTI.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business, finance, or project management-related areas an advantage.
  • Experience in leading design in a consultant organization and working in a tendered design services environment.
  • Sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures, including international conditions and ability to take commercial responsibility for a project.
  • Experienced in leading, and working with, people from varied backgrounds and cultures.
