We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Manager to join our team at EllisDon. As a key member of our Design Build and P3 project team, you will be responsible for leading the design and construction of mechanical systems for our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Work with the design and construction team to develop conceptual mechanical design and energy efficiency solutions for Design Build and P3 projects.
- Provide design-assist input from a facility cost of ownership perspective to ensure greater system efficiency and lowest net present costs.
- Apply innovative building systems technologies and services to deliver cost-effective solutions that meet client requirements.
- Develop P3 infrastructure solutions from a Design Build and Service Provider perspective.
- Work with the EllisDon Design Build and Facility Services Team to develop energy models and manage the process to develop the energy model, final report, and RFP submission deliverables.
- Follow through on mechanical building systems design and energy efficiency solutions in the construction and operations phase of projects.
- Coordinate scope of work between general, mechanical, and electrical trades.
- Review mechanical trade pricing to ensure scope and methodology are appropriate.
- Maintain networking relationships with Sub-Contractors, Architects, and M&E Consultants from the P3 industry.
- Lead the process, manage mechanical trade partners and consultants, and engage other needed resources internally or externally to present the final solution in accordance with governance protocol.
- Possess a strong understanding of the regulatory, legislative, and business environment, as well as procurement requirements unique to the P3 market.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of consulting engineering, construction, or facility operations experience with excellent knowledge of building-related systems and services.
- Professional Engineer designation is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in design, construction, and facility services with the skills and comfort level required to be a key part of a team.
- Solid knowledge of governing Codes and Standards for buildings.
- Solid knowledge of energy management.
- Strong project management skills for managing large development projects with diverse resources.
