Job Description

As a Cyber Security Assurance Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing the cyber security posture of suppliers and identifying risks, resulting from engagements with third parties who deliver projects, products, and services to Royal Bank of Canada in support of achieving business objectives.

This position falls within the Third-Party IT Risk team which is responsible for conducting enterprise-wide IT risk due diligence on third-party suppliers and the position reports to the Senior Manager Cyber Security Assurance, you will provide Cyber Security, IT risk expertise within Royal Bank of Canada. This involves third-party engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with stakeholders, you will perform IT risk assessments to determine points of non-compliance and provide insight into the risks identified.
  • Participate/lead discussions in security reviews, walkthroughs, risk assessments, and security workshops.
  • Provide detailed security guidance to Royal Bank of Canada Groups when called upon, as part of the assessment process.
  • Assess the security of Royal Bank of Canada Financial outsourcing initiatives including onsite inspections and review of physical and logical controls.
  • Provide ad-hoc security guidance to the stakeholder community involved in the Supplier Control Assessment.
  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build, influence, and impact with key business partners.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience with conducting security assessments in a similar role working with cyber technology risk.
  • Expert knowledge of security policies and standards and information security practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of cyber security technologies like access control solutions, authentication, network security, cryptography, PCI, privacy, and data classification/protection.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management.
  • Ability to multi-task and flexibility to adapt to priority changes.
