Cyber Security Analyst (GCS)

Job Overview

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will provide operational support for network security, endpoint security, and threat surface products/tools within RBC's global Cyber Security environment. The role involves production support, implementation of changes, and prompt resolution of production problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day support of Endpoint Security and Threat Surface security applications.
  • Responding to operational security-related events and incident/problem escalations.
  • Participating in root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
  • Collaborating with Integration and Engineering support teams to understand security products and operating environments.
  • Ensuring adequate technical documentation is in place.
  • Participating in joint development and plans, and executing implementations.
  • Contributing to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Identifying and recommending opportunities for automation of repetitive tasks.
  • On-call duties.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience working with network and security appliances/vendors.
  • Thorough understanding of network flows, protocols, and application-related security controls.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues with unfamiliar technology.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with new and evolving technology.
  • Strong communication skills, including understanding how a message should be delivered, to whom, and when.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities across a number of assignments and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in information security (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, CEH, ITIL)
  • Linux and AIX Knowledge
  • Scripting skill (Python)
