Job Title: Disability Management Specialist

Halton Healthcare Services is seeking a highly skilled Disability Management Specialist to join our team. As a Disability Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing strategic case management of disability claims/cases, including Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, return to work, absence management, WSIB claims, and work accommodation processes at all sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate, engage, and maintain contact with injured/absent employees on a regular basis
  • Provide support to employee's manager/supervisor regarding case management, disability, and accommodation
  • Effectively and collaboratively resolve conflict
  • Interpret and educate managers on regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Make referrals to appropriate resources as required
  • Effectively manage a fluctuating case load
  • Develop effective and sustainable return to work plans
  • Regularly monitor and adjust the progress of all return to work cases
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in disability case management required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Occupational Health Nurse
  • Disability Management Certification preferred (CDMP, CRTWC)
  • Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Experience with WSIB claims management
