Job Title: Instructor of Persons with Disabilities

We are seeking a skilled Instructor of Persons with Disabilities to join our team at ABA Autism Services INC.

Job Summary:

The Instructor of Persons with Disabilities will be responsible for assessing clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals. They will also instruct students in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language. Additionally, they will assist students in developing life skills, provide job training and support, and collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess clients' cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals
  • Instruct students in reading and writing braille, lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language
  • Assist students in developing life skills
  • Provide job training and support
  • Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs
  • Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work Environment:

This is a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week. The work language is English.
