Software Test Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to join our team in Downtown Toronto for a 4-month contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation solutions to ensure the reliability of our internal systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, processes, and tools.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in automation testing design and test architecture.
  • Identify opportunities to coach and mentor junior Test Engineers.
  • Assist with the onboarding and initial training of new IT Test Engineers.
  • Conduct code reviews, including automation scripts and application code, ensuring quality standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance test automation systems and tools to support the efforts of test engineers.
  • Execute automated test cases, scripts, and scenarios to ensure software functionality and reliability.
  • Help assess product quality and readiness for release.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of automated test suites.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot test automation failures to determine root causes.
Requirements:
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, software testing principles, and quality assurance processes.
  • Extensive experience in designing and developing robust, reusable automation test frameworks and infrastructure from scratch.
  • Proficient in C#, Java, or JavaScript and experienced with Selenium WebDriver for automation testing.
  • Extensive experience with source control tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Proficient in SQL with a solid understanding of relational database systems.
  • Extensive experience with API/service testing tools such as SoapUI and Postman.
  • Experience with Test Complete, Protractor, Cypress, or Playwright is a plus.
