Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapy Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing quality physiotherapy services to our patients, including consultation, client assessment, physiotherapy diagnosis, planning, intervention implementation and evaluation, program planning and implementation, discharge planning and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides physiotherapy services to patients, including consultation, client assessment, physiotherapy diagnosis, planning, intervention implementation and evaluation, program planning and implementation, discharge planning and follow-up.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
  • Provides education and guidance to other healthcare providers or people working within the educational system.
  • Maintains professional accountability, professional judgment and reasoning with a high level of communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Recent and relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Registration on the Active Practice Register of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba.
  • Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.
  • Must demonstrate adequate motor coordination or dexterity for implementation of therapeutic techniques and manipulation of therapeutic activities as necessary.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
