Overview of the Role

The City of Kamloops is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Community Health Program Developer to join their team. This full-time position plays a vital role in developing programs, hiring instructors and volunteers, and creating healthy lifestyle workshops as part of the City's Recreation Programs.

About the Job

This permanent position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a salary range of $40.24 per hour, working 35 hours a week. The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in recreation or a related field, with at least one year of experience in program development, organization, and evaluation. Alternatively, a degree in an unrelated field with three years of experience in a similar role would be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs that promote healthy lifestyles and community engagement
  • Hire and manage contractors and volunteers for program delivery
  • Create engaging and informative workshop content on healthy living
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  1. A post-secondary degree in recreation, sport management, education, or physical education/kinesiology, with a minimum of one year of experience in program development and evaluation; OR A post-secondary degree in an unrelated field with three years of experience in a similar role
  2. A valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5
