Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals experiencing problematic substance use.
About the Role:- Provide and coordinate the delivery of nursing care services to clients experiencing substance use disorders.
- Assess, refer, counsel, and teach clients and their families as required.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans based on client needs and best practices.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor client response to treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and resolve client/family issues.
- Plan and provide direct nursing care to clients in compliance with standards of practice.
- Process physician or nurse practitioner orders and administer medications as required.
- Manage emergencies and respond to crisis situations.
- Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to resolve client/family issues.
- Teach clients and families about illness prevention, health maintenance, and health promotion strategies.
- Graduation from an approved Nursing Program with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of approved addictions or substance use training, or substance use certificate program, and one year's recent related experience working in an addictions environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, families/care givers, and members of the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care and educate clients and families about topics essential to their health care and well-being.
