Mainframe Application Developer

GuruLink is seeking a skilled Mainframe Application Developer to join our dynamic team dedicated to delivering robust and efficient mainframe applications. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing mainframe databases and developing mainframe applications that support our critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Mainframe Database Management: Manage mainframe databases and develop mainframe applications that meet business requirements.
  2. Business Requirements Implementation: Understand and implement business requirements into technical solutions, utilizing COBOL, DB2, SAS, SQL, and JCL for mainframe systems development.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Application Development and Maintenance: Develop, maintain, and optimize mainframe applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and high-performing.
  5. Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
Must-Have Skills:
  1. Proven track record of managing mainframe databases and developing mainframe applications.
  2. Significant experience with mainframe systems utilizing COBOL, DB2, SAS, SQL, and JCL.
  3. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  5. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  6. Platform experience with Cloud, VMC 2.0, UNIX, and MVS.
  7. Experience with developer tools such as Endevor, TSO, CA7 Scheduling, and Service Now.
  8. Knowledge of file transfer protocols and tools like EBX and TIBCO mailboxes.
  9. Experience with Netron CAP, JAVA, Angular, and Powerbuilder.
  10. Certifications in relevant mainframe technologies are a plus.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe Developer.
  3. Proven proficiency in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
