About the Job

Nexus Systems Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining application programs and interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop complex application programs and interfaces using Cobol and JCL.
  2. Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for system software applications.
  3. Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures, and provide technical support.
  4. Identify, escalate, and document production impact issues.
  5. Evaluate user requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current systems and capabilities.

Requirements

  1. 5+ years' experience as a Senior Mainframe Developer.
  2. 1+ years of Tech Lead experience.
  3. 5+ years of experience with Cobol.
  4. 5+ years' of experience with JCL.
  5. 3+ years' of experience with DB2.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  1. Experience with Endevor.
  2. Experience with CA7.
  3. Experience with File Manager.
  4. Experience from banking an asset.

Soft Skills Required

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Communication skills.
  • Proactive mindset.

Education

Bachelor's in a technical field.
