Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the receipt, handling, and processing of surgical pathology specimens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze specimens for histological examination
  • Perform microtomy and special stains as required
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate specimen processing
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
Requirements
  • Current general registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is mandatory
  • Recent clinical experience of 3-5 years in Histology is required
  • Proficiency in embedding specimens of all complexity is essential
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
