Job Summary

Scotiabank is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Global Network to lead our 24x7 Global Network & ABM Operations team. As a key member of our Global Services Operations Centre (GSOC), you will be responsible for providing effective leadership, developing and executing innovation and delivery strategies, and ensuring the adoption of best practices and suitable trends to mitigate risk to our business partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to the Global Network & ABM Operations team, ensuring clearly defined and approved standards and guidelines are maintained and adhered to.
  • Develop and execute innovation and delivery strategies for Global Network & ABM operations, both in production and non-production environments.
  • Accountable for program design, policy formulation, and operating standards within the network and ABM spaces.
  • Lead the development and oversight of all items related to network and ABM operations, coordinating the implementation of best practices and the adoption of suitable trends.
  • Define business outcomes, including articulation and definition of business outcomes and service level agreements, metrics to confirm success, and identification of key underlying assumptions, business and technology risks, prerequisite initiatives, required supporting actions, and intermediary outcomes.
  • Assist in the management of the GSOC to the Organization's Balanced Scorecard, preparing annual operating budget/business plan, ensuring overtime/staffing is managed efficiently, ensuring resource allocation is managed effectively, and ensuring that effective measurements to gauge the success of the unit are developed and maintained.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors.
  • Oversee or verify expenditures associated with overall GSOC operations, staff technical training within approved department and project budgets as required.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English, with Spanish being an asset.
  • Have at least 10+ years of progressive technical working experience in Information Technology, Network Operations, and/or Operations/Command Centre Management.
  • Have at least 10+ years of hands-on technical working experience in a high volume, complex, demanding customer-oriented IT & Network environments.
  • Have at least 5+ years of senior level management and leadership experience managing diverse teams in varying locations globally.
  • Have a proven track record with Executive Level strategic influencing skills, including the ability to frame technology opportunities in terms of business values.
  • Demonstrate broad technology knowledge within the network infrastructure and systems technology spaces and leadership with existing and new technologies.
  • Have at least 10+ years of professional working experience in managing technical projects/programs.
  • Be recognized as a change champion and cultural catalyst.
  • Be adept at working under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities, and changing requirements.
  • Demonstrate broad ITIL based knowledge with a focus on Network/Process Automation, Incident/Problem Management, Leadership/Process Communication, and Change Management.
  • Completion of a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or a related field of study.
