About the Position

Cape Breton University is seeking a collaborative and experienced candidate to fill a limited-term position in Business Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professor (or Lecturer depending on qualifications). This position will commence as soon as possible and will be based on campus, with opportunities to teach in different modes and locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Analytics, including courses in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization.
  • Develop and maintain a research program in Business Analytics, with a focus on publishing in top-tier journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Contribute to the development of new programs and courses in Business Analytics, and participate in curriculum review and revision.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote the School of Business and its programs, and to develop partnerships with industry and community organizations.
Requirements
  • PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited University.
  • Exceptional candidates in the later stages of their PhD (i.e., all but dissertation) may also be considered for the rank of Lecturer.
  • Demonstrated evidence of effective teaching and research in the field of Business Analytics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
