Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified individual who has received mental health and/or substance abuse services and has experience in social services, supported housing, and public health. A high school diploma and a Community Mental Health Certificate or Addiction Worker Certificate are required. Additionally, completion of a recognized Peer Support Training course or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is necessary. A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License is also required.

Experience working with adults and youth with mental health or substance use issues is essential. The ideal candidate will have the ability to apply clinical and critical thinking expertise, deliver education programs, and work independently with minimal supervision. Effective verbal and written communication skills, physical ability to perform duties, and advanced computer skills are also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply clinical and critical thinking expertise to support individuals with mental health or substance use issues.
  • Deliver education programs to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to provide support services.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and community partners.
  • Use electronic file systems to deliver services and maintain accurate records.
