Gertex Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of People and Culture. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Business and Strategic Planning / Leadership
- Develop and implement people-related strategies, practices, and processes that support the company's business plans and strategic direction.
- Evaluate and advise on short-term and long-term people-related needs, and represent new or emerging people and culture priorities, insights, and plans.
- Provide recommendations in people-related areas, including organizational culture, employment policies and legislation, and workforce planning.
- Organizational Culture and Employee Experience
- Enhance employee engagement and further reinforce an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Lead employee feedback initiatives to gather inputs on how to continually improve practices to maintain strong employee engagement and experiences, and design action plans accordingly.
- Continually assess industry best practices focused upon enhancing culture and engagement, and thoughtfully recommend new practices to the Executive Team, sharing well-thought-out plans to take concepts into practice successfully.
- People & Culture Leadership
- Effectively lead all ongoing P&C activities surrounding (but not limited to) recruitment and retention, training and development, performance management, compensation planning, rewards and recognition, and succession planning.
- Recommend and plan for any unique or ad-hoc special projects pertaining to people and culture.
- Ensure organizational policies are communicated clearly and efficiently, are reviewed regularly to ensure they are up to date, and are signed off on annually to align to compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources with professional HR designation (i.e. CHRL) required.
- A minimum of 7 years of HR Business Partner/Generalist experience, ideally with 3-5 years of proven success at the leadership level of a growing company.
- Successful experience leading P&C functions and demonstrates technical depth in all areas of human resources management.
- Experience supporting M&A an asset.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into strategy and actions.
- Effective presentation skills, formally or informally.
- Thoughtful leader and progressive thinker, with the ability to articulate ideas and opportunities to achieve new solutions and desired outcomes.
- Proven track record of delivering results on both strategic and tactical objectives with a sense of urgency in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrates capacity to skillfully communicate (both verbal and written) with all levels of employees.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task across ongoing projects in a dynamic environment.
- Possesses excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively manage and reconcile competing priorities.
- Has advanced knowledge of Canadian employment law and related legislation.
- High level of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft suite of products.
