Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and educate patients on radiation treatment options and procedures
  • Plan and administer radiation treatment, ensuring accurate dosing and delivery
  • Document patient treatment information and prescriptions
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, research, and continuing education
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Canadian Medical Radiation Technologists (CMRTO) required
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification with ongoing re-certification mandatory
  • Minimum 3 years recent and relevant Radiation Therapist experience
  • MRI Certification preferred
  • IV Insertion Certification considered an asset
  • Volunteer participation in recent and relevant Radiation Therapy working groups and/or committees
  • Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
  • Excellent technical, communication, patient assessment, and critical analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, compassion, and initiative when dealing with patients and families
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload
  • Knowledge of computer systems and general office software
