We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and educate patients on radiation treatment options and procedures
- Plan and administer radiation treatment, ensuring accurate dosing and delivery
- Document patient treatment information and prescriptions
- Participate in quality assurance programs, research, and continuing education
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Current registration with the Canadian Medical Radiation Technologists (CMRTO) required
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification with ongoing re-certification mandatory
- Minimum 3 years recent and relevant Radiation Therapist experience
- MRI Certification preferred
- IV Insertion Certification considered an asset
- Volunteer participation in recent and relevant Radiation Therapy working groups and/or committees
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
- Excellent technical, communication, patient assessment, and critical analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, compassion, and initiative when dealing with patients and families
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workload
- Knowledge of computer systems and general office software
