Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Tradesperson/Millwright to join our Facilities Maintenance team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain building components by installing, operating, and repairing mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with OCDSB and legislative standards and codes.
  • Perform other related duties to ensure properties, facilities, and equipment are properly maintained.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and legislation, new materials, equipment, products, methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Locking Out and Tagging procedures.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with coworkers, plant supervisors, and other Board personnel.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools, including drills, voltage and multimeter, pipe wrenches.
  • Ability to report code violations, complete forms, and calculate formulae for volume and material costing.
Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification 433A Millwright or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or commercial maintenance.
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license.
