About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Flight Software Engineer to join our team at Sierra Space. As a key member of our Orbital Mission and Services (OMS) division, you will be responsible for designing and developing flight software for spacecraft missions. Your expertise in C++ and real-time operating systems will be crucial in ensuring the success of our small satellite programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop flight software for spacecraft missions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets customer requirements
  • Contribute to the analysis of various architectures and mission concepts
  • Develop and test software using C++ and real-time operating systems

About You

You should have a strong background in computer science and software engineering, with experience in embedded systems and real-time operating systems. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded systems and real-time operating systems
  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical understanding of C++
  • Experience with spacecraft flight software development
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum
