About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Meridia Recruitment Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and executing complex mechanical projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring that projects are executed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Design and Engineering: Engage in conceptual and detailed design engineering to shape the project's technical aspects, preparing drawings and construction specifications as needed.
  • Contract Administration: Act as contract administrator, ensuring timely completion of tasks and managing budgets and company standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment, promoting and enforcing company standards relating to project administration, documentation, and processes.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and clients, ensuring that project deliverables are accurate and meet expectations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of mechanical building services.
  • Registration and Certification: Registration or eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia, and a Senior Certified Engineering Technologist with equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong understanding of relevant Codes and Standards, construction project procurement methodologies, and advanced knowledge of provincial building codes, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience in healthcare facilities, including Infection Control Certification (CAN/CSA Z312 and CSA Z32), and experience in project management, working on projects from concept to detailed engineering.
