Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

R.V. Anderson Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in various office locations. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing industrial power distribution systems, including load analysis, Hydro supply sizing, substation design, and underground duct banks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and control systems.
  2. Conduct load analysis and Hydro supply sizing to ensure efficient and safe electrical systems.
  3. Design and develop substation and underground duct bank systems.
  4. Work closely with project managers and other disciplines to plan and prepare construction drawings and provide support as necessary.
  5. Perform site visits for electrical data gathering, condition assessment, and field inspections.
  6. Conduct power system studies and power quality studies.
  7. Supervise CAD operators for preparation of design drawings.
Requirements:
  1. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Must hold a valid designation with the ability to practice in the province of Ontario; or the ability to obtain a Licence within the next 12 months.
  3. 5-8 years of Electrical design engineering experience in an engineering, construction, or architectural firm.
  4. Experience with ETAP software will be considered an asset.
  5. 309A Electrician / Red Seal Certification or equivalent will be considered an asset.
  6. Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative, high-paced team environment.
  8. Superior English communication skills, both oral and written.
