Electrical Design Engineer

About the RoleWe're looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer who can work with our engineering team to develop design solutions for building projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering systems, building codes, and construction technologies. They will be responsible for analyzing design intent, creating technical design solutions, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.
- Evaluate engineering design requirements and create drawings to support construction projects.
- Perform engineering activities such as calculations, code research, and material research.
- Evaluate site conditions, including zoning requirements and site constraints, and perform site surveys and field reviews.
- Coordinate technical information to write engineering specifications for project manuals.
- Review project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents and corporate quality controls.
- Proficiency in engineering software, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical engineering systems design software.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems and multiple building types.
- Familiarity with architectural design concepts and building codes.
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Engineering license in Ontario and Quebec.
- RCDD certification.
- 7-10 years of project work experience.
- Experience in electrical engineering building systems.
