About the Role
As a Rehabilitation Assistant in our Recreation Therapy department, you will play a vital role in delivering rehabilitation services to patients. Working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, and equipment inventory.
- Prepare and apply routine interventions under the direction of a supervising therapist.
- Promote patient healthy living, self-care independence, and motivate clients to actively participate in therapy protocols or programs.
- Assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who have completed Grade 12 and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will work under the direction of a supervising therapist, so prior experience in a related field is an asset.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is estimated to be $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. Alberta Health Services offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
