Job Summary:

Agropur is seeking a skilled Powder Packer Operator to join our team at our Sussex location. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our powder packing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with all safety standards and Good Manufacturing Principles to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Monitor and operate the required equipment in the powder area, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Complete training period and perform tasks of an Operator I when required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
  • Responsible for completing all paperwork, including weight check forms and product labeling, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Take samples for food quality testing, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Sanitize and clean the production area, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Regular manual material handling of 25 kg bags of powder, requiring physical stamina and dexterity.
  • Relevant post-secondary education will be considered an asset, as will experience working with process controls and computer-based systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to meeting business needs.
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift license and elevated platform or scissor lift training, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Previous experience in a food production environment will be considered an asset, as will a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work at heights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, with good judgment and a commitment to safety.
  • The right candidate should be flexible and interested in advancing to Operator I, with a willingness to learn and grow with the company.
