The Opportunity:

Become a key player in our dynamic food manufacturing company as a 2nd Class Power Engineer. Your role will be crucial in ensuring regulatory compliance and optimizing the efficient operation of our plant. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $48.27.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Manage and operate various utilities equipment and processes, including steam plants, HVAC, compressed air, water systems, natural gas, and refrigeration.
  • Collaborate with contractors, manufacturers, and vendors to streamline operations.
  • Develop and implement essential protocols, such as SOPs, PMs, PDMs, and WOs.
  • Spearhead project development and implementation, focusing on utilities enhancements.
  • Ensure health, safety, and food safety policies are upheld.
  • Cultivate a culture of engagement, responsibility, accountability, and teamwork among employees.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2nd Class Power Engineering certification.
  • Proficiency in managing steam, ammonia, and refrigeration systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to thrive with minimal supervision.
  • Team player mentality with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Prior experience in a food production or manufacturing setting is advantageous.

Preferred Hiring Criteria:

  • Steam & refrigeration experience.
  • Additional tickets such as Millwright & Plumbing an asset.
  • Experience in a food processing environment.
  • Good computer skills - proficient in Microsoft office applications & experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with root cause analysis & continuous improvement programs such as 6Sigma.
  • Requires initiative, results-oriented, demonstrated leadership & excellent communication skills.
