Job Title: Financial Analyst

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join its Technology and Infrastructure (T&I) Finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance and data science or business analysis, with a strong aptitude for driving and supporting significant process and reporting improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and produce reports using financial and production data.
  • Create ad hoc analyses using various datasets.
  • Financial planning and analysis for some T&I components.
  • Develop reports involving financial metrics to support T&I Finance.
  • Produce useful and accurate financial forecasts and reports on a regular basis, ensuring their timely distribution, and following up to related inquiries.
  • Develop tables and charts to present the data in a format suitable for presentation to Finance and T&I.
  • Implement the automation of the above, where suitable.
  • Develop and promote effective reporting and analytical standards and procedures.
  • Participate in the month end financial close process, including the preparation of journal entries.
  • Assist in monthly financial forecasting and financial variance analysis.
  • Work closely with individuals within the group to gather and analyze data, requirements, and standards.
  • All other tasks, assignments, duties or projects as required by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Business, preferably in Business Administration or Commerce, plus three years of related work experience in data science and/or business analysis.
  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP BW.
  • High level of computer proficiency, and full working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel), and Google Suite (Google Sheets).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience at dealing with clients/users at all level – individually and in groups.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across the Corporation.
  • Ability to work independently, but equally well in a team environment.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and think critically in the development of solutions.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Initiative to explore new techniques and new ideas to satisfy internal client requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, technical writing skills and change management skills.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
