Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Compass Group Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cleaning staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
  • Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance projects.
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services required, such as painting, repair work, or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist cleaners in performing duties and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Coordinate work activities with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in cleaning and maintenance, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, and handling heavy loads.
