Security Administrator Job Description

At London Drugs Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled Security Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day oversight of all security aspects related to our systems, servers, and network connections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Security Event Identification: Perform active identification of security events utilizing a variety of security tools to ensure potential issues are identified, investigated, and escalated accordingly.
  • Incident Response: Lead or assist in the handling of security incidents to ensure containment, eradication, and recovery while providing proper evidence collection and documentation through to closure.
  • Network Security: Collaborates with the IT team to conduct proactive searches or sweeps of our network utilizing a variety of security tools to identify IOCs, suspicious behavior or activities warranting further investigation.
  • Process Improvement: Participate and contribute to team process improvement initiatives including maintenance of existing documentation, audit preparation, or the development of new processes and procedures in support of our security policies.
  • Security Knowledge: Keep apace of relevant security technologies and emerging threats while participating and contributing to information and knowledge sharing.
  • Reporting: Create or contribute to security, technical or managerial reports related to our security services, metrics and KPIs.
  • Security Reviews: Conduct security reviews of detailed designs for the implementation or upgrade of complex systems.
  • Project Delivery: Delivers solutions on time, within the pre-defined project budget, maintaining a high level of quality.
Requirements:
  • Communication Skills: Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to clearly present a topic to a technical or non-technical audience.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the company.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Works well under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Independence: Able to work independently on tasks and projects with little direction while still involving stakeholders appropriately.
Education and Knowledge:
  • Education: A university degree/college diploma in Computer Science, IT related disciplines or equivalent work experience of 7+ years of IT with minimum 3 years of information security experience.
  • Security Certifications: Completion of one or more security certifications (CISSP, GSEC, CISA, CISM, etc.) is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrates solid experience and understanding with technology and processes including, but not limited to: End-point Protection, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Firewall, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Vulnerability Assessments, Encryption, Incident Response, Systems Hardening and Best Practice, Cloud Security.
