About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Specialist to join our team in Vancouver, Victoria, or Kelowna office. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing control architect and process control narratives, analyzing, designing, testing, and commissioning instrumentation and control systems installations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical instrumentation and controls, with experience in advanced process controls, distributed control systems, drives, program logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, human/machine interfaces (HMI), programming, and all associated work related to infrastructure and building projects.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will be responsible for preparing design reports at different design stages, supervising, mentoring, and coordinating the engineering work for junior staff, and conducting site visits during construction and commissioning of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preparing control architect and process control narratives.
  2. Analysis, design, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems installations.
  3. Supporting business development activities of the company.
  4. Preparing design reports at different design stages.
  5. Supervising, mentoring, and coordinating the engineering work for junior staff.
  6. Conducting site visits during construction and commissioning of the facilities.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  1. An undergraduate degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  2. 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical instrumentation and controls.
  3. Registered, or eligible for immediate registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or AstBC.
  4. Demonstrates leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to work with a team of professionals in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  6. Demonstrated experience with PLC programming in different environments and HMI configuration.
  7. Experience in marketing and business development.
  8. Thorough understanding of piping and instrumentation drawings, process control narratives, and ISA standards.
  9. Committed team player and self-motivated.
  10. Experience with Revit MEP and Elecdes Suite is an asset.
  11. Proven technical skills and attention to detail.
  12. Knowledge of electrical service and motor control centers.
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations.
