We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager/AVP to join our team at Zurich Canada. As a key member of our Public Management Liability team, you will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting of our National Accounts Management Liability and Financial Institutions portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team of underwriters to make informed underwriting decisions for new and renewal business
- Identify new growth opportunities with key distributors
- Ensure that accounts meet the organization's appetite while balancing sound business opportunities
- Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions and close deals
- Provide continuous coaching on sales best practices
- Mentor staff to develop strong broker and client networks
- Monitor sales pipeline and production metrics
- Calculate target price accurately using underwriting tools
- Identify market trends and coverage exposures that may impact business results
- Manage relationships with producers to ensure profitability and growth
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in Public Management Liability Underwriting/Financial Institutions or Market Facing area
- OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area
- OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in Public Management Liability Underwriting/Financial Institutions or Market Facing area
- AND 2 or more years of management experience
