Job Summary

The Senior Patient Access Associate is responsible for obtaining and entering accurate demographic and insurance information on patients presenting at various entry points of the facility. This role performs cashiering functions, ensuring all hospital accounts are secure, through the collection of required co-pay, deductibles, and co-insurance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record accurate demographic and insurance information on patients by interviewing patients, family members, and physicians.
  • Ensure correct insurance plan codes are utilized for billing purposes.
  • Regularly work in multiple areas (e.g., emergency department registration, main registration, bed management, cashier, etc.) and/or EHR work queues specific to patient access.
  • Contribute to departmental and hospital patient experience, proactively seeking solutions to address patient issues and concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Four years of customer service experience, including two years of experience in hospital registration.
  • Demonstrates skills and competencies necessary to safely perform assigned job duties.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English language necessary to perform essential job functions.
