Emergency Shelter Case Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Shelter Case Manager to join our team at the Government of Prince Edward Island. As a key member of our community-based emergency shelter team, you will provide client care and daily supervision to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Implement behavioral modification and management strategies under the supervision of the shelter manager within a team approach.
- Provide residential care and establish a supportive relationship with clients using respect, non-violent crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing techniques.
- Conduct intake and assessment, develop realistic case plans, and review progress with clients.
- Establish follow-up with service partners to support connection to needed services and create a record of efforts.
- Provide direct supervision to complex clients at high risk to themselves or others, maintaining a safe environment.
- Anticipate crisis by engaging in dynamic security with clients and maintaining intelligence regarding relational issues.
- Work respectfully with vulnerable clients, including Indigenous peoples, BIPOC, LGBTQ2SIA+, and others, and advocate for fair and equitable treatment.
- Establish good work relationships and collaborative arrangements across sectors, community groups, and other agencies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Knowledge of behavioral modification and management strategies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
