Currency Operations Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Currency Operations Team Leader to join our team at the Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Currency Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our currency management processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Operations Agents in managing bank note inventories, authenticating, recirculating, and destroying Bank notes.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager, colleagues from the Montréal and Toronto Agency Operations Centres (MAOC and TAOC), and the Director to ensure team objectives align with the strategic direction of the Currency function.
  • Plan, supervise, and review daily activities to ensure compliance with established work plans, schedules, quality standards, procedures, and budgets.
  • Supervise a group of Operations Agents, providing guidance and mentorship to help them tackle problems, set performance objectives, and develop their skills.
  • Respond to potential queries regarding operational issues and/or productivity metrics.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience working in an Operations Centre and/or experience in a supervisory position within an operational environment.
  • Ability to mentor and demonstrate inspirational leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong organizational skills to achieve desired results in a timely fashion.
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills.
  • Ability to coach, develop, and empower employees.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (French essential).
