Located in northwest Alberta, the city of Grande Prairie offers a unique blend of urban and outdoor living. With a population of nearly 70,000 residents, it boasts a state-of-the-art recreation facility, numerous parks, and golf courses.
The largest pediatric team in the North Zone provides a wide range of assessment and therapeutic interventions to children aged 0-18 years. This includes services from Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathology, Early Childhood Intervention Program, Registered Dieticians, Social Work, and Audiology.
A strong community relationship with local school divisions, Pediatricians, FSCD, and other local programs enables us to provide a more coordinated service within our community. A close link with Tertiary Hospitals in Edmonton is also essential for service provision with complex clients.
We offer a competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 per annum, payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate.
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing clinical professional practice independently and as part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management
- Participating in the planning, coordination, and delivery of rehabilitation services with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals, and other partners
- Supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate
- Informing ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development using your clinical expertise
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)
- Current membership with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- BCLS-HCP certification
We are seeking an individual with effective assessment, treatment, and education skills who can work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Estimated salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
