Role Summary

The Clinical Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting the transition of new graduate and novice nurses into the workforce. This Ministry of Health funded role is designed for experienced RNs with frontline experience to mentor and support nurses in their transition into the workforce.

This includes types of nurses such as nursing graduates, novice nurses, nurses transitioning into specialty areas, and internationally educated nurses (IENs).

As a Clinical Facilitator, you will work closely with experienced RNs to provide consultation and clinical support to peers, especially new staff members, as needed.

You will also support real-time reinforcement of required skills attainment of new staff nurses to the clinical units, promote nurses' wellness and team well-being, and serve as a liaison between unit leadership, clinical educator, and Professional Practice.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the past 2 years in frontline care in an inpatient hospital clinical setting
  • CC1 certification and experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation required
  • Competencies to provide mentorship to newly graduated nurses required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent clinical, communication, and coaching skills
  • Previous experience working with learners and/or preceptoring/mentoring required
