As a Senior Consultant, you will play a critical role in developing and advising on government engagement, public affairs, and advocacy strategies.
You will interact with government officials and decision-makers to build and maintain relationships, stay up-to-date on current events, politics, and public policy issues in healthcare.
The role requires running winning campaigns that bring together public policy, advocacy, media relations, and digital elements. You will deal directly with clients, coordinate meetings, and ensure projects are progressing in line with client expectations.
You will write briefing notes on policy and political files, press releases, digital content, and speeches. Relevant experience in politics, government relations, or public affairs is essential, as is post-secondary education/equivalent experience.
A strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, being well-versed on current affairs, political actors, and major public policy files in Canada, and demonstrated research and analytical skills are required.
Superior writing/editing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex content, and strong social and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, delegate, and prioritize deliverables, are also essential.
The successful candidate will have the ability to manage and support client relationships, proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and any additional languages spoken/written or experience with research would be a significant asset.
