Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at St Louis Bar and Grill. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring high-quality standards are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, adhering to our strict food safety protocols
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence
- Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
- Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Manage kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution of our menu items
Requirements:
- Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate staff
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
- Judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Support for Newcomers and Refugees: We offer support for newcomers and refugees, including foreign credential recognition and mentorship opportunities.
Support for Youths: We provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth, promoting their growth and development.
Support for Indigenous People: We develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, promoting cultural understanding and respect.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: This role requires attention to detail, physical demands, and repetitive tasks. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of energy and focus.
Personal Suitability: We are seeking a candidate with excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, judgement, and a strong work ethic. You must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Experience: We require a minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety protocols.

Hours of Work: 30 to 40 hours per week
