Mechanical Design Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Technologist to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Mechanical team, you will play a crucial role in the development of building mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the creation of 2D and 3D documentation for building mechanical systems using industry-standard software.
- Support project managers and mechanical engineers in systems design, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective project delivery.
- Monitor and ensure quality control during construction, maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
- Generate technical information with minimal guidance and supervision, demonstrating expertise and autonomy.
- Develop complete and final drawings/models from general conceptual information and design notes, showcasing attention to detail and technical proficiency.
- Coordinate drawings with other disciplines on each project, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Accountable to team members and project managers for drawing/model production, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules, prioritizing a safe working environment.
- Certificate or Diploma in a related mechanical technology or drafting technology program, or equivalent experience, from an accredited technical college or institute, with an emphasis on facility design and/or building science.
- A minimum of five years of experience in technical design engineering for buildings or equivalent experience and responsibilities is required.
- A comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD is considered an asset.
- A minimum of two years of Autodesk Revit is required.
- Experience with various types of building and site mechanical systems and the ability to conceptualize in three dimensions is also required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce well-written reports and technical specifications.
