Mechanical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technologist to join our team at APTECH Technical Service. As a Mechanical Technologist, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems, including the creation of technical drawings and specifications.
- Inspection and Testing: Conduct inspections and tests on mechanical installations and construction projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination and management of mechanical projects, including the estimation of costs and materials.
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and models of mechanical systems.
- Tool Design and Development: Design and develop tools, moulds, jigs, and fixtures to support mechanical projects.
- Cost Estimation and Materials Management: Estimate costs and manage materials for mechanical projects.
- Engineering Design and Specifications: Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings, and specifications.
- Contract and Tender Preparation: Prepare contracts and tenders for mechanical projects.
- Standards and Schedules: Prepare standards and schedules for mechanical projects.
- Maintenance and Operations: Supervise maintenance programs and the operation of mechanical plants.
- Inspections and Testing: Supervise, monitor, and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects.
- Machine and Equipment Testing: Test machines and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- MicroStation: Utilize MicroStation software for CAD design and development.
- Steel-Toed Safety Boots: Utilize steel-toed safety boots for workplace safety.
- Awareness Training: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Inclusive Recruitment Policies: Apply accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities.
- Newcomer and Refugee Recruitment: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
- Youth Awareness Training: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Veteran Recruitment: Recruit Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Age-Discrimination-Free Hiring: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Visible Minority Support: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
