Addiction Services Clinical Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Services Clinical Social Worker to join our team at Providence Health Care. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by addiction.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position working within our addiction services team, providing advanced therapeutic clinical counseling services to clients, families, and groups. The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Social Work and 3 years' recent related experience working in addiction, mental health, HIV/AIDS, or complex pain.
The Addiction Services Clinical Social Worker will work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to provide comprehensive care, including assessment, case management, treatment planning, and follow-up support. They will also develop and implement research protocols and conduct social work interdisciplinary research and special projects.
Responsibilities- Provides advanced therapeutic clinical counseling services to clients, families, and groups
- Conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develops care options with client input
- Formulates and implements care and treatment plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team
- Maintains client records and provides referrals to community treatment agencies and services
- Provides clinical consultation services to PHC social workers and interdisciplinary care providers
- Initiates the development and evaluation of drug and alcohol programs within PHC
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited university
- 3 years' recent related experience working in addiction, mental health, HIV/AIDS, or complex pain
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers
- Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and professional practice guidelines for the treatment of various disorders
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with clients, families, interprofessional teams, community agency partners, and academic/research institutions
