Drywall Finisher Job Description

Aspire Drywall Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints, cutting and installing metal corner beads, and fabricating and installing suspended metal ceiling grids.

Work Environment

The Drywall Finisher will work in a fast-paced commercial and residential setting, with varying locations and tasks. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at heights, in dusty and noisy environments, and outdoors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty and noisy environments, and outdoors
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment
