POSITION SUMMARY

Journeyperson Pipefitters at Strike Group possess a comprehensive range of knowledge and skills required to design, assemble, install, and maintain complex pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various industrial applications. They are expected to uphold a culture of safety and adhere to Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, demonstrating respect, fairness, and dignity in their interactions with colleagues.

PROJECT DETAILS

  • Employees work at the Cenovus Foster Creek facility, contributing to the development of critical infrastructure.
  • Shift schedules involve 8 hours of work followed by 6 hours of rest, with 12-hour days and a final day of shift being an 8-hour day.
  • A travel allowance of $300 per shift is provided, and camp accommodations are available.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Journeyperson Pipefitters read and interpret complex construction drawings and blueprints, ensuring accurate installation and maintenance of pipe systems.
  • They assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Preparation of pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging is a critical aspect of their role.
  • Hydrotesting, assembling, and installing pipe spools in the fabrication facility require attention to detail and a strong understanding of pipe systems.
  • Measuring, cutting, and threading pipe to the required shape is essential for ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Installation of supports, valves, piping, and control systems requires a high level of technical expertise.
  • Removing and replacing worn components and reactivating systems is a critical aspect of maintaining pipe systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Journeyperson Pipefitters must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the relevant provincial or federal authority.

TRAINING

  • Employees must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Journeyperson Pipefitters must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • They must be able to lift 50 pounds and work comfortably in outdoor environments.
